Professor McGonagall is the Deputy Headmistress, head of Gryffindor house, the Transfiguration professor and then later on she becomes the Headmistress of Hogwarts. She is also a member of the Order of the Phoenix.
Professor Quirrell

At one time, Professor Quirrell was the Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher when Harry first came to Hogwarts. Underneath his turban on the back of his head was Voldemort’s face.
Vernon Dursley
Harry Potter actor: Richard Griffiths
Vernon Dursley is Harry’s uncle and he is married to Petunia Dursley. He is a Muggle and does not like anything magical, this includes Harry. The Dursleys are in charge of taking care of Harry since Harry’s parents were killed, however, they care nothing for Harry.
Petunia Dursley
Harry Potter actor: Fiona Shaw
Petunia Dursley is Harry’s aunt and Vernon’s wife. Petunia is Harry’s mother’s sister. Harry’s mother was a Muggle born witch and Petunia was always jealous of her sister, although their parents were happy to have a witch in the family.
Gilderoy Lockhart
Harry Potter actor: Kenneth Branagh
In Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Gilderoy Lockhart becomes the new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher. He is a celebrity wizard, who has many books that are popular and likes to talk about himself. The staff at Hogwarts does not like him and neither do Harry or Ron. His own memory is erased when he tries to erase Harry and Ron’s memory. Lockhart is a fraud and has never actually gone on any great adventures.
Lucius Malfoy

Lucius Malfoy is the father of Draco Malfoy and he is also a Death Eater. He comes from a pure blood family. He was the school governor at Hogwarts, was fired and now has connections to the Ministry of Magic. He is a minion of Voldemort’s.
Tom Marvolo Riddle (young Lord Voldemort)

Tom Riddle is the teenage Voldemort seen in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. This is one of the first instances that we get to see Voldemort before his later transformation.
Sirius Black
Harry Potter actor: Gary Oldman
Sirius Black was best friends with Harry’s father James Potter. He is from a pure blood family and later in the series, he becomes the titular prisoner of Azkaban.
Peter Pettigrew
Harry Potter actor: Timothy Spall
Peter Pettigrew began at Hogwarts when Sirius, Remus and James Potter did, and they were all in Gryffindor together. Peter is a Death Eater as well and the only one from Gryffindor. His nickname is Wormtail because his other form is a rat. He is another minion of Voldemort’s and a spy within the Order of the Phoenix.
Sybil Trelawney

Sybil Trelawney is the professor of Divination at Hogwarts. She is considered a fraud at the school as a seer, however, she says the proof of her powers is that she can predict each year which student at the school will die.
Mad-Eye Moody
Harry Potter actor: Brendan Gleeson
Mad-Eye Moody is a teacher of the Defense Against the Dark Arts at Hogwarts. He is an ex Auror and by the end of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, we find out that the real Moody has been imprisoned in a trunk. Mad-Eye Moody is a warrior who ends up giving up his life to protect Harry Potter.
Cedric Diggory
Harry Potter actor: Robert Pattinson
Cedric Diggory is part of Hufflepuff and is two years older than Harry. He also plays Quidditch as the captain and seeker. His father is Amos Diggory who works at the Ministry of Magic. Cedric Diggory is killed by Voldemort at the end of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
Rita Skeeter
Harry Potter actor: Miranda Richardson
Rita Skeeter is a reporter who works at the Daily Prophet and Witch Weekly. She has such magic as the Quick Quotes Quill and she is an Animagus that can turn into a beetle to spy on people.
Dolores Umbridge
Harry Potter actor: Imelda Staunton
Dolores Umbridge becomes another Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher and she was at Harry’s trial, but later we find out that she had the Dementors attack Harry.
